NCW takes cognizance of Zaira’s complaint, Air Vistara tweets ‘We have zero tolerance for such behavior’

Srinagar: Following cry over the shameful act of fellow passenger towards Kashmiri Bolloywood star, Zaira Wasim, aboard a plane towards Mumbai from Delhi, the National Commission of Women (NCW) said it has taksn congnizance of the incident.

“NCW has taken cognise of reports wherein @ZairaWasimmm was molested by a fellow passenger on board @airvistara. The Commission will be calling the airlines to get a details of what transpired and action taken by them in the matter,” @NCW tweeted soon after Zaira posted a video on Instagram alleging harassment by the fellow passenger who was sitting behind her.

The NCW said that it will be calling Air Vistara officials to seek more details.

Zaira was flying to India’s financial capital through Air Vistara.

In its statemwnt posted on Twitter, Air Vistara wrote, “We @airvistara have seen the reports regarding @ZairaWasimmm experience with another customer on board last night. We are carrying out detailed investigation and will support Zaira in every way required. We have zero tolerance for such behaviour.”

The alleged molestation of Zaira created online uproar and netizens condemned the act and ezpressed sympathies with the 17-year-old actress.

The incident is viral on social media with among top three trending on Twitter.

Reacting to the incident, pro-India politician, Omar Abdullah, wrote, “The passenger should be identified to the police by @airvistara & a case filed for legal action. None of this “he fell at my feet so I forgive him” rubbish!”

Omar’s political rival, Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra said, “Absolutely terrible and unfortunate incident happened with @ZairaWasimmm on an @airvistara flight.
Hope the molester is arrested soon and booked for his wrong doings.”
