Militants who carried out Amarnath Yatra attack killed in Qazigund: DGP

Srinagar: Jammu Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) SP Vaid Tuesday said the state government forces have killed all the militants who had attacked Amarnath Yatris in July this year. Seven Amarnath pilgrims were killed and 15 injured when militants attacked a bus carrying at least 56 passengers at Botengo village near Anantnag.

DGP Vaid wrote on twitter, “Body of third militant Yawar a local was also recovered from encounter site & 4th militant caught alive in injured condition. Well done boys.”

In a subsequent tweet, Vaid said: “With the elimination of Abu Ismail earlier & now these three Abu Mavia, Furkan & Yawar group that attacked Amarnath Yatries is wiped out.”

Three militants and an army man was killed while three civilians were injured after the army opened fire to disperse the peacefull protesters near the Bounigam gunfight site in district Anantnag.
