Srinagar : Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) on Sunday welcomed the decision of government for setting up of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) Centre for Post Graduate(PG) medical test at Kashmir.

The move has given a sigh of relief to thousands of aspirants particularly to economically backward candidates and female students. The aspirants are now psychologically relieved and will perform best in upcoming entrance test.

“It was extremely difficult for them to travel outside, trace examination centres, and get accommodation at nearby centres” said President DAK Dr Suhail Naik . “Furthermore non availability of such centres in Kashmir, was jeopardizing health care system as about two thousand doctors were leaving for said exam simultaneously for five days”, Dr Naik added.

It is pertinent to mention that DAK had already demanded the setting up of NEET PG examination centre about a month back. Furthermore DAK stresses government to fulfill their other genuine demands within a given time frame.

Meanwhile taking strict note of non-availability of dedicated exam centres in Kashmir, DAK demands establishment of high-tech examination centres on war footing basis, so that all national level competitive exams like National Board of Examinations(NBE) and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) can be held smoothly in the Valley.
