JAMMU December, 02: The Inter Battalion Sports Meet-2017 began at Police Advance Training Ground in Jammu division of the state on Saturday.

“Armed Police is organizing Inter Battalion Sports Meet so that outstanding players may get an opportunity to show their talent in the games and get selected to represent the State as well as the National level teams,”   ADGP Armed J&K A.K.Choudhary told the gathering.

The inaugural match of Tug-of-War played between IRP-7th Bn and JKAP- 13th Bn which was won by IRP-7th Bn was witnessed by ‘number of spectators who had come from different areas to witness the inaugural ceremony’, police said.

28 Battalions of AP/IRP will be participating in the tournament, whil 797 players will be participating in 16 events of the sports meet.

According to organizing Secretary, IGP AP/IRP Jammu, S.A.Watali-IPS, the events will be held till 7th of December 2017 at Gulshan Ground, University ground, DPL Jammu, Hakku Stadium, Gym Complex PHQ/CTC Sunjwan and Indoor Hall GOs Mess.

The opening ceremony was attended by  S.D.Singh Jamwal-IPS, IGP Jammu Zone, S.A.Watali-IPS, IGP Armed/IRP Jammu Zone, Vijay Kumar-IPS, DIG AP Jammu besides  other Senior Police officers, civil officers, retired Police officers.
