Srinagar, November 26: Police Sunday  arrested two drug peddlers in Kulgam and claimed to have recovered three Quintals of poppy straw from their possession.

Police had laid a naka at Upper Bazar Qazigund, a vehicle bearing registration number JK03C 4750 was intercepted. “During checking 300 Kilograms of Poppy straw was recovered from the vehicle. Two persons namely Altaf Ahmad Hajam son of Mohammad Ramzan resident of Arwani Hassanpora Bijbehara and Shakeel Ahmad Sheikh son of Mohammad Anwar resident of Sangam Panjpora who were boarding the vehicle were arrested and the vehicle was seized,” police said.

Qazigundpolice has registered a case and investigation was taken up.
