Rally for ‘population control’ taken out in Budgam

          BUDGAM, NOVEMBER 24: A rally under the ongoing ‘Vasectomy Fortnight’ being celebrated across India to create awareness among people about the population control was taken out at Budgam here today.

          The rally in which scores of Asha workers, Anganwadi workers, Health department’s supervisory staff and Female Multipurpose Health workers participated was led by the Chief Medical Officer Budgam Dr G.M Dar and Deputy CMO Budgam Dr Tehmina Bukhari.

          The rally started from the office of Block Medical Officer Ompora and marched through the different markets to create awareness about the birth control.

          ‘Vasectomy Fortnight’ is being observed from November 21 to December 4 across India to create awareness about male sterilization and to promote the participation of men in family planning.

Dr Tehmina Bukhari on the occasion said that the main aim of the programme was to spread awareness about the population control.
