Srinagar: Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) today launched 5kg FTL LPG cylinder for the people Jammu and Kashmir in an event here in Srinagar.

The event was inaugurated by Jagdeep Kumar Rana General Manager LPG, Punjab State Office.

Speaking on the occasion Rana said that the process of obtaining a LPG cylinder has been made hassle free for any customer buying the new 5kg FTL cylinder. It would only require submitting one time identity proof of unlike the previous procedure in which a person had to submit his identity proof as well as his proof of residence and show the gas book for every refill of his cylinder.

“This would be of great help to migrant laborers as well as students who live in rented accommodations who can get a LPG gas connection without any difficulty as it will be easily available and is safe.”

The new 5kg LPG gas connection needs one time identity proof on the time of purchase.

It has no limitation of buying the cylinder like in domestic plan people can only get 12 cylinders as per the rule but here in this there is no limitation.

“The best benefit of this new scheme is that it will be easily available at departmental stores, LPG gas outlets, kiryana stores, petrol pumps etc.” Rana said.

The rate for its cylinder will be as per commercial rates. These are safer than other small cylinders which people use for lighting. The only difference between this cylinder and the bigger on which we use daily is that it is less in volume and size.
