Kupwara: Five structures including two residential houses and three retail shops were gutted in two fire incidents in Tangdhar town of Karnah tehsil in Kupwara district.
Locals said that kiryana shops and a godown belonging to kafeel Ahmad, Riyaz Ahmad and Muhammad Yousuf were gutted in fire on Tuesday night at Madina Market near New Dak Bunglow.
In another incident two residential houses were gutted in Latoo hamlet of Tanghdar on Sunday night.
According to villagers property works lakhs was destroyed in the fire incidents.
Officials at Fire and Emergency service doused the fire with the assistance of police.
Police has started probe to ascertain cause of the fire.
“We have started process of assessing the damage,” police said.
