Misconduct: Salary of more than 25 officials in Edu dept withheld in Rajouri

RAJOURI, NOVEMBER 21 – District Administration, Rajouri has issued directions for action against heads of more than 25 educational institutions in view of inspection and audit report indicting the schools for various administrative and academic lapses.

Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri, has issued directions for various actions including withholding of salary, serving show-cause notice and meeting for curative action. Salary of more than 25 officials including heads of institutions, physical teachers and resource persons has been withheld. Further action will be taken after reply of the defaulters is taken into account.

Inspections were conducted in more than 45 schools by different teams deputed from the District Institute of Education & Training. Inspection teams reviewed attendance in schools and offices, maintenance of leave register and official records, serving of Mid-Day Mean and other administrative issues apart from academic profile of students.

 A team of senior officers reviewed the inspection reports and after scrutiny of same salary of more than 25 officials has been withheld which include officials from Middle School Ujhan, High School Dodaj, Middle School Thanamang, HSS Chingus, MS Dherian, MS Anayatpura, MS Rajpur Kamila, HS Qila Darhal, MS Qila Darhal, ZEO office Baljarallan, HSS Jamola, HS Ghambir Brahmna, MS Tatapani, HS Chambitrar, PS Hubi and HSS Panihad.

Meanwhile, school management of HS Laam, HSS Kandi, HSS Koteranka and HSS Panihad has also been reprimanded for various pending issues however the discipline was found satisfactory. Apart from this more than 15 other schools in Darhal, Thanamandi, Koteranka and Nowshera Zone inspected by the teams were found to be functioning satisfactorily.

District Administration has now decided to conduct regular monitoring and audit of all schools which will enable the department and authorities in the district to initiate measures for specific improvements. It has also been decided to document best practices of schools and recognise and reward best performing teachers.
