Srinagar: The father of footballer Majid Khan who returned home from militant ranks has said that his son’s unflinching love for football might force him to accept the ‘coaching’ offer from former Indian football captain Bhaichung Bhutia.

The Bhaichand Bhutia Football (BBF) Schools is a chain of football academies run by the former captain. The official Twitter handle of the schools retweeted Bhutia’s message and posted, “We will love to have Majid train with us.” While Majid is still in detention with government forces, his father said that he might accept the offer. “He loves the game too much, and I do not think he is going to turn down the offer,” Majid’s father Irshad Khan said.

He said that the family was yet to meet Majid but is ecstatic that his son will finally be home soon. “The good news is he is alive and healthy. He will be home soon,” Irshad Khan said. JKFA president Zameer Thakur acknowledged that he had received a mail from Bhutia.“We have responded and told Bhutia that we have no contact so far with Majid,” Thakur said.
