Bear mauls woman in Anantnag

Anantnag, Nov 17 : A bear attacked and injured a woman at Tailwan-Acchabal area of this south Kashmir district town last evening, officials said today.

The bear pounced on the victim identified as Haneefa Begum, wife of Abdul Rehman Khan, a resident of Tailwan –Achabal near her house and critically wounded her.

The victim has been shifted to district hospital anantnag for treatment.

The wild bear is reported to have come down from the nearby forest to the residential area in search of food.
