Army pays tribute to soldier killed in Kulgam gunfight

Srinagar, Nov 15: Army on Wednesday paid tributes to a soldier killed in a gunfight with militants in Kund village of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district yesterday.

In a solemn ceremony at BB Cantt, Lt Gen JS Sandhu, Corps Commander, Chinar Corps and all ranks paid homage to the slain soldier, said a spokesman.

In a show of solidarity, officials and representatives from the State Government and other security agencies also joined in paying their last respects to the slain soldier, he said.

“Late Sep Manjinder Singh sustained bullet injury during the fierce operation at Waltingu in Kulgam District. He was provided immediate first aid and evacuated to 92 Base Hospital, but succumbed to the injuries,” he said.
