Handwara: Killed militants identified, one from Sopore another of Palhalan

Two militants killed in Zachaldara, Handwara have been identified as Toib Mir of BrathKalan, Sopore and Ashiq Ahmad Bhat of Palhalan—both belonging to Hizbul Mujahideen.

“The militants fired upon a joint party of Handwara police, army’s 21 RR and 92 battalion CRPF who were performing Naka duties near Sultanpora Crossing, Zachaldara, Handwara. The attack was repulsed and both the militants were killed by the timely retaliation of the alert security personnel,” a police spokesman said in a statement.
