Srinagar: Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Friday hailed Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s for “peace initiative” named Paigam-e-Mohabbat that “provides platform for closure and reconciliation to the family members of martyrs, victims of cross-firing and slain militants.”
“Such programmes are imperative to understand the agonising pain endured by the people of Jammu  and Kashmir. The civil society in the rest of the country must do more to dismantle the walls of mutual distrust and suspicion that have isolated J&K,” Mehbooba tweeted.
“A positive initiative by @SriSri. I earnestly hope that this marks a beginning in the process of truth & reconciliation,” she added.
Responding to her tweet, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar thanked Mehbboba for “encouraging words.” “We need to do much more in this direction,” he added.
“A lot more does need to be done but such efforts will undoubtedly go a long way in winning over the hearts and minds of our people,” Mehbooba re-tweeted.
