Police on monday claimed to have busted LeT militant hideout in Najwan forest area in Kangan in Ganderbal district and recovered arms and ammunitions.

In a press conference, SSP Ganderbal Fayaz Lone said a joint search operation was launched by SOG and 24 RR in the forest area of Najwan , a remote area in Kangan area of district Ganderbal.

“During search of the area, a hideout of let militants was busted and arms and ammunition were recovered from the hideout which include one AK-47 rifel , 2 magazines, UBGL 19, chinease hand genrade 3, Motor shell, a wireless set, ragged blankets and two cooking utensils”, he said.

A case has been registered at police station Ganderbal and investigation is in progress, he added.\
