Two day International conference concludes in CU

Srinagart: A two day International Conference titled ‘Whither the Global Village: Is Globalization in Retreat’ which was held at Central University of Kashmir, Nowgam campus ended today.

Vice chancellor, Goa University, Prof Varun Sahni, Vice chancellor, CUK, Prof Mehraju Ud Din, Registrar, Central University , Prof M Afzal Zargar, and Dean School of Social Science, Prof Noor Ahmad Baba, Conference Convener and Coordinator Department of Politics and Governance, Dr Abhiruchi Ojha, deans of various schools, heads and coordinators of different departments and students were also present on the occasion. The conference was attended by different participants who came from USA, South Africa, Sri Lanka along with participants from different parts of India.

After the inaugural session yesterday, there were 10 technical sessions held bearing different themes ‘Transnational social and Labour Movements: Present and Future, International Security: Back to Realpolitik: Introspecting globalisation and beyond, Global Economy: Is protectionism the future? Evolving the role of Diasporic Communities, Perils and Possibilities for Developing Countries in a changing world, Globalism vs Nationalism, Education and Human Rights: Evolving Perspectives, Xenophobia, Security and Globalisation, Remapping Gender beyond Globalisation’ were held during which experts presented their views.  All these thematic presentations lead to variety and stimulating discussions.
