Budgam: Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti convened public grievances redressal camp here on Sunday.
Taking her public outreach further, Mehbooba met scores of deputations and hundreds of people and apprised her of their problems.
The deputations came from all across the district and raised issues like supply of drinking water, improvement in power distribution system, tourism development, road constructions, upgradation of health facilities, development of sports facilities and other issues.
The deputations thanked the Chief Minister for her reaching to people in far flung areas and the excellent arrangements put in place during Muharram. They also thanked her for initiating many projects of upgradation of power distribution, road macadamisation, tourism development particularly opening Tosa Maidan for tourists and development of roads to other tourist destinations in the district. Many deputations demanded setting up of a transformer bank in the district for immediate repairs of damaged transformers.
A deputation of Jawalapora thanked Mehbooba Mufti for starting work on Randakdaji road. They sought strengthening of facilities at Primary Health Centre (PHC), Watreheil, upgradation of Jawalapora Middle School to High School.
Another deputation from Parneiv, Dreigam villages sought preparation of project report for Sochalpathri water supply scheme. They also sought development of playfield at Bugroo village besides construction of bridge at Chak e Khansahib on Sukhnag nallah.
A deputation from Sanoor Kalipora demanded upgradation of local girls high school to a higher secondary school. They also demanded widening of Badran-Kanihama road besides ban on excavation of sand from Sukhnag nallah. Another deputation of members of civil society from Soibug demanded drainage facilities at Hamdania colony and early completion of Saifdan bridge besides an ambulance for the PHC, Soibug.
Another deputation from Wadwan sough augmentation of drinking water facility for Rusu village and development of Sanoor-Budgam road.
A deputation from Narbal demanded macadamisation of Narbal-Budgam road besides drainage facilities in the village. The deputation also sought proper accommodation for the Girls Higher Secondary School besides territorial adjustment of several areas of the village and setting up of a fire station in the area.
A deputation from Bemina sought installation of street lights, posting of staff at the local health centre, drainage facilities and developing of Public Park in the area.
Many deputations from Charar i Sharief demanded sanitation, public convenience facilities, more stalls at the local fruit mandi and establishment of Baitul Zaireen at the shrine of Hazrat Sheikh Noor ud Din Wali (R.A.). They also sought construction of Charar i Sharief-Tilsaran road which connects the town with Pulwama district.
Deputations from Beerwah also sought rationalisation of revenue villages, construction of bridges over Sukhnag nallah at Laribal-Goripora and Aripanthan-Rathsun, upgradation of local receiving station, development of Kasturivan park and construction of Kasturivan-Nauroze Baba road.
A deputation from Khaag sought construction of a community hall, setting up of fire station and development of park at Malapora besides upgradation of power distribution network in the area.
A deputation from Magam sought strengthening of local hospital, construction of a community hall, development of a park and a playfield in the town. They also sought early commissioning of Sanoor receiving station and setting up of a drug de addiction centre at the local hospital.
A deputation of Auqaf Committee, Ompora sought strengthening of facilities at the local health centre, development of sports field besides augmentation of drinking water facilities. Another deputation from Pakherpora also sought augmentation of facilities at the local health centre and carving out of an educational zone for the area.
A deputation of Pandit employees of Sheikhpora sought setting up of an ATM facility in the area, tube well facility for the colony and restoration of promotional avenues in their favour.
Several deputations from Budgam town sought strengthening of health facilities at the District hospital besides extension of its boundaries. They also demanded raising of public convenience facilities for the people in the town especially at the bus stand. The deputations also sought widening of Humhama-Budgam road, development of a park, pacing up of work on the MANUU satellite campus and bus for the local college.
A deputation of Self Helf Group youth demanded cancellation of fake SHGs and enhancement in the quota of works being allotted to them. Another deputation from Khanda, B K Pora also sought augmentation of health facilities, setting up of a CAPD sales outlet and corrections in the settlement records of the area.
A deputation from Hajibagh, Shariefabad sought release of compensation in their favour for the land taken over by the Army. Another deputation from Rakshaliun Teing sought raising of embankments on the village khuls and development of road upto Lasjan. They also demanded setting up of SHG for local girls besides augmentation of the facilities at the local first aid centre.
A deputation from Nagam demanded sorting out of land issues for Brenwar and Yousmarg health centre. They also demanded improvement in the facilities at the local GB hostel.
A deputation of youth from Chadoora sought setting up of a vocational training institute, operationalision of local juice factory and raising of public convenience in the town.
Mehbooba Mufti assured the deputations to look into their demands and take appropriate action. In many cases the Chief Minister gave on spot directions for the redressal of the problems.
Many other deputations also met the Chief Minister and it continued upto late in the night.
During her two day visit, the Chief Minister would also be reviewing many developmental projects in the district tomorrow.
Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Rohit Kansal; senior officers from the Chief Minister’s Secretariat and Planning Department; heads of several Departments; Chiefs of many Engineering wings; Deputy Commissioner, Haroon Malik and officers of District administration were present on the occasion.
It may be recalled here that the Chief Minister started her massive public outreach programme from Pulwama and Kupwara during which hundreds of people apprised her about their problems and difficulties.
Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura and MLC, Saiffudin Bhat were present on the occasion.
