The exhibition at General Post Office, Srinagar will showcased more than 2000 rare stamps issued by Postal organization of India and abroad on Mahatma Gandhi.

Renowned Philatelists of Jammu and Kashmir regions Dr Semin Rubab, Aashiq Hussain,  Chetan Kohli,  Dr Puri, Sanjay Gupta will be part of the exhibition, dept of post said.

Department of Post, J&K Circle, Srinagar informed that best 9 letters chosen in the National Level Letter Writing Competition under the “Dhai Akhar/Letter Writing Campaign which run from 24th June, 2017 to 15th August, 2017 will be awarded Circle level cash awards in the exhibition. The best three letters writers who secured 1st Position in different categories are Kasak Katoch Jammu, Samriti Sharma Sunderbani Rajouri and Aqib Bashir Frisal Kulgam and will be awarded Cash Award of Rs 25,000- each. Kibra Javaid PCHSS Srinagar, Sanaya Mahajan of KC International School Jammu and Falah Fida Wani Hawal Srinagar who secured second position in the respective categories will be awarded Rs 10,000- each while as Shabir Ahmad St. Paul’s Academy Srinagar, Kanhiya Lal Sharma Samba Jammu and Hamid Ali Shah Jammu University will be awarded third prize of Rs 5,000- each in the respective categories.

They said that the letter writing competition was open for all citizens and sizeable number of participants participated in it across the state of J&K. The theme of the Letter Writing Competition was “Dear Bapu (Mahatma Gandhi), you inspire me…”. A special cover on Dhai Akhar Letter writing campaign will also be released by Department of Posts in the exhibition.
