ANANTNAG:  Minister for Revenue, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction, Abdul Rehman Veeri today said that PMDP funded Rs 18 crore new Sub District Hospital would be constructed in Bijbehara.

The Minister said that while inspecting the site and taking stock of facilities at existing Bijbehara hospital.

He was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Anantnag Muhammad Younis Malik, Director Health Services Kashmir Saleem Ur Rehman, Superintending Engineer Anantnag, Fazil Kochak, CMO Anantnag and other officers.

The Minister asked the officers to expedite the process of formulating Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the construction of Hospital equipped with modern facilities.

He also asked them to setup a timeline for various construction works so that it could be completed within deadline.

He inspected the functioning of the institution, besides taking stock of the services being made available to the patients.

The Minister, during the visit inspected various units of the hospital and enquired about the facilities being provided to the patients.

The Minister also donated Rs 10 lakh for purchasing Digital X Ray machine for the hospital.

He asked the authorities to ensure proper maintenance of all crucial equipments in the hospital for larger interest of the patients.

Veeri impressed upon them to maintain utmost levels of sanitation and ensure hygienic environment in the hospital which is pre-requisite for health of the patients. He also directed the hospital to employ proper waste management techniques including conscious waste segregation and disposal.
