Srinagar: Inspector General of Police Kashmir Munir Ahmad Khan on Wednesday asked police personnel to fight against the social evils and drug menace for the betterment of the society.
Addressing a police ‘Darbar’ at Gandebal, the Kashmir’s top police officer also asked the uniformed men to maintain a good relation with public.
A police spokesman here said that the IGP impressed upon the policemen and the officers about the importance of common people and their role in ensuring safety and security of pubic.
Regarding welfare of policemen, he said, it always has been priority and that more welfare schemes like enhancement of recently ex-gratia and Medical facilities have been introduced to benefit them,
He also heard patiently the problems and grievances of the men and assured them that their genuine issues will be redressed shortly.
The IGP Kashmir also hailed police in Gandebal for their “excellent job” during Amarnath Yatra, the annual Hindu pilgrimage which concluded recently.
