Srinagar: Unidentified gunman on Sunday evening killed a cable TV operator in Shopian district of south Kashmir.
Reports said Hilal Ahmad Malik was shot at by the gunmen near his residence at Malik Mohalla Shopian around 8:00 pm. He was immediately shifted to nearby hospital from where he was refereed to Srinagar hospital in critical conditions for specialized treatment. However, he succumbed to injuries mid way.
Meanwhile, a posse of army, police and CRPF cordoned the area and launched the hunt to nab the attackers.
This is third attack of its in less than 24 hours in south Kashmir. On Sunday morning, police found bullet-riddled body of a 16-year-old Gowhar Ahmad Dar in Shopian while a PDP worker Muhammad Ishaq was killed in his native village, Dialgam in Anantnag district.
