Doda: Expressing their anger, the National Health Mission Employees of Chenab Valley under the banner of Chenab Valley NHM Employees
Association on Friday held a Press Conference at Distt Hqr Doda and has strongly condemned the recent issued order by Union Health Ministry regarding non-implementation of of Supreme Court’s verdict on equal pay for equal work to NHM Employees of India.
The District President NHM Employees Association Doda, Faizan Ali Tramboo, while reacting to that order said that NHM Employees working in India do not need performance certificate of anyone as our work and our performance is quite open and clear before the people.
Tramboo said that NHM Employees have been denied for their genuine right for regularization and equal pay for equal work since the inception of this scheme in India, added that NHM Employees are the backbone of health department and they work on the grass root level.
President Chenab Valley Doctors Association Dr Hamid Parray in his statement said that such order issued by Union Health Ministry vide DO Letter No P-17020/19/2017-NHM-IV Dated 13-07-2017 is totally against NHM Employees of India which clearly indicates how much sincere our govt is towards NHM Employees who are working tirelessly since decades for the betterment of health care system.
It is worthwhile to mention here that, NHM employees are working in rural as well as urban areas in India since 2005 and have contributed significantly to the health care sector of India due to which India is now Polio Free besides J&K State bagged three times number one position in best health care and recently breakdown in IMR and MMR in J&K is because of tireless efforts of NHM Employees who are working day and night so Govt needs to ponder over this issue and come up with a viable solution.
Subsequently, in a significant verdict in a civil appeal No 2013 0f 2013 Dated 26-10-2017, Supreme Court has held that the principal of equal pay for equal work has to be made applicable to all those engaged on dailywagers, casual and contractual employees who perform the same duties and the regulars.
The NHM Employees Association of Chenab Valley has urged upon the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Health Minister and other concerned to listen to woes of NHM Employees on priority basis besides revoke immediately the recent order issued by Central Health Ministry. The NHM Employees also threatened for nation-wide agitation in case government fails to revoke the recent issued order.
Those who were present in the press conference were Mashood Latief Zargar, Dr Nasir Masood Indrabi and Ashok Singh. (KNS)
