Div Com Kashmir reviews traffic decongestion measures in Srinagar

Srinagar: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan today convened a meeting to review traffic decongestion measures in the City as per the High Court directions.
Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Kashmir, MD SRTC, Executive Engineer SDA, DSP Traffic, SP Security, Deputy Director Planning and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
Pertinently, a committee comprising Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Transport Commissioner, Vice Chairman SDA and Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation was nominated for coordinated approach in devising various strategies to de-congest the city
The meeting decided that the Committee shall meet once in a month and may invite various stakeholders to receive their input and feedback for devising ways for better traffic regulation in the summer capital.
During the meeting, the RTO Kashmir briefed about shifting process of Batamaloo Bus Stand and said the step will aid in decongestion of traffic in the City.
On the occasion, the Divisional Commissioner directed the SDA officials to construct additional toilet blocks, passenger sheds, and other facilities at the New Bus stand Parimpora so that commuters do not face any inconvenience.
He also directed the officers to ensure bottlenecks, if any, are immediately cleared for the traffic de-congestion in the Srinagar city. (CNS)
