7 Hurriyat leaders arrested, will be produced in NIA court on Tuesday

Srinagar: The seven Hurriyat leaders arrested by NIA will be produced before the Special Judge, NIA, Patilala House in New Delhi tomorrow (Tuesday).
Those arrested include, Nayeem Khan, Altaf Ahmed Shah alias Fantoosh, Raja Mehrajuddin Kalwal, Peer Saifullah, Aftab Hilali Shah alias Shahid ul Islam, Ayaz Akbar Khanday and Farooq Ahmed Dar alias Bitta Karate.
While the six leaders were arrested from Srinagar, Dar was arrested from New Delhi where he was called for questioning.
An NIA spokesperson said the arrested separatists will be produced before the Special Judge, NIA, Patilala House in New Delhi tomorrow. He said more arrests are likely in future.
The spokesman said they were booked in case No. RC 10/2017/NIA/DLI which was registered on May 30 this year “against the separatist and secessionists leaders including the members/cadres of the Hurriyat Conference who have been receiving funds though hawala and causing disruption in the valley, burning schools, damaging public property and waging war against India”.
Meanwhile, the joint resistance leaders have called for shutdown tomorrow against the arrests and questioning by NIA. (KNS)
