Srinagar: Minister for Education, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari, today stressed on the need for providing exposure to students of the State along with formal education for their holistic development.
The Minister was speaking during a flag-off ceremony of an educational tour of girl students to Leh and Kargil.
The educational tour has been organized by the Department of School Education, Kashmir, in which 40 students from various parts of Kashmir along with four teachers are undertaking a 10-day long educational tour of the twin desert districts.
While interacting with the students, Bukhari said such tours are conducted to provide students an opportunity to explore different places and interact with their counterparts from other parts of the State.
He said this tour is part of exposure activities being undertaken by the Education Department, adding more students will be involved in such activities on regular basis in near future.
On the occasion, students apprised the Minister about their concerns including those regarding teacher strength and sanitation facilities in schools. The Minister issued on-spot instructions to the concerned officials to address genuine grievances at an earliest.
The Minister was accompanied by Director School Education (Kashmir), Dr G N Itoo, among other concerned officers of Education Department. (KNS)
