Beerwah shuts to mourn Tanveer’s killing

Srinagar: A complete shutdown was Saturday observed in Beerwah area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district to mourn the killing of a Tanveer Ahmad Wani.
Tanveer Ahmad Wani, a tailor by profession, was killed by army on Friday after fire cracker was hurled towards Army patrol in the area, police had said.
Police have lodged an FIR against army.
All the shops and other business establishments were closed in the area while the traffic was also thin on the roads throughout the day.
Witnesses said that a heavy contingent of police and paramilitary troopers were deployed on roads in the area throughout the day.
The forces according to the witnesses had also sealed the roads leading towards main town Beerwah.
A police official said that the situation in Beerwah remained peaceful and under control throughout the day. (KNS)
