Srinagar: A day after the 60-year-old man succumbed to his injuries, a complete shutdown was Wednesday observed in South Kashmir’s Bijbehara area to mourn his death.
Mohammad Abdullah Ganai, 60, had received bullet injury in his leg after forces opened fire in Bijbehara on Monday.
He was immediately shifted to Srinagar’s Bone and Joint hospital for treatment.
Ganie after getting operated in B&J, was shifted to SKIMS Soura for specialized post-operative treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Meanwhile, all the shops and other business establishments remained closed in Bijbehara while the traffic was also thin on roads.
However, the traffic on Srinagar-Jammu highway was plying normally.
Meanwhile, a police official said that the situation in Bijbehara remained peaceful throughout the day. (KNS)
