SRINAGAR: Minister of State for Housing & Urban Development, Social Welfare, Health & Medical Education, Asiea Naqash today conducted an extensive tour of Hazratbal constituency and took stock of various ongoing developmental projects there.
The Minister was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Dr. Farooq Ahmad Lone, VC LAWDA Tahseen Mustafa, PHE Chief Engineer G.M Bhat, Chief Engineer Urban Development Hanief Lone, S.E I&FC Ajay Gupta, S.E V.K Raina, Executive Engineer Ishtiaq Shah of Urban Environmental Engineering Department (UEED), Chief Revenue Officer Syed Nisar, A.E.E Electric Fayaz Peerzada and other concerned officials.
The Minister visited Malla Bagh area and its adjoining colonies to review the progress on drainage project and directed the concerned authorities to expedite the work so that locals are facilitated. She was informed that work on 4062-meter long pipe drainage scheme is in full swing and, so far, work on 521 meters has been completed.
During the visit, the Minister also interacted with several deputations and received the first-hand appraisal of their issues and demands. She patiently listened to the grievances of people and assured them that their genuine issues would be looked into and redressed in a time bound manner.
Responding to the public demands, the Minister instructed the authorities to make the estimation of various projected developmental works.
Later, the Minister also visited Shah Mohalla of Ahmad Nagar area, where deputations briefed the Minister about the condition of inner roads and by-lanes, drainage system. The Minister directed officials for surface drain clearance and routine cleaning of drains, roads, and lanes so that they don’t choke and function properly as intended.
