Div Com Jammu interacts with civil society, appeals for maintaining harmony

JAMMU: Divisional Commissioner, Dr Mandeep Kumar Bhandari today chaired a meeting with the representatives of various religious organizations and civil society members in the wake of terror attack on a bus carrying Amarnathji pilgrims.
The Divisional Commissioner urged them to maintain an atmosphere of brotherhood, peace and communal amity in the State.
IGP Jammu, SD Singh, DIG Jammu-Samba- Kathua range, Ashkoor Wani, DC Jammu, Kumar Rajeev Ranjan, SSP Jammu Sunil Gupta, ADC, Arun Manhas, senior officers of the district administration, representatives of various traders organizations, Jammu Bar Association and government functionaries were also present in the meeting.
The Divisional Commissioner impressed upon the security agencies to beef up overall security in Jammu, besides making special security arrangements in and around the places where the yatris are staying.
“We strongly condemn the terror attack on pilgrims of Amaranthji Yatra sand express sympathy with the bereaved families of those killed,” the participants stated in unanimous voice.
All participants assured full cooperation and assistance to the police and administration in maintaining peace, tranquility during the ongoing Shri Amarnathji Yatra.
