Poonch: An army jawan and his wife was killed after Pakistani Rangers allegedly fired mortar shells in border district of Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir.
Police sources told CNS that a couple was killed after their house was hit by a mortar shell fired by Pakistani Army at Karmara Khadi area of Poonch district.
The deceased were identified as Showkat Hussain Khan and his wife Safiya Begum. Showkat Hussain Khan was a soldier working with Indian Territorial Army. Khan had taken a leave from the Unit.
The couple is survived by two kids aged seven and four.
Meanwhile, a Defence official said that Pakistan once again violated the ceasefire agreement and attacked Indian forward posts. “Indian Army retaliated with full force,” he said. (CNS)
