Srinagar: Association of ISM doctors (AID) are up in arms against the administration for ‘failing to release their salaries from past two months’.
The president of the association, Dr Muhammad Jamaal told KNS that the salaries of the employees working in the ISM department in Srinagar and Ganderbal districts are withheld from past months.
“We have been left to face hardships in the holy month of Ramadhan while the authorities also seem reluctant to release our salaries on the EID eve,” he said.
He said that the though the Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti has announced EID gift to the people but the ISM staff of the two districts are being left to suffer.
Dr Jamaal said that the salaries are withheld due to the non availability of Assistant District Medical Officer (ADMO). “The ADMO is on leave from past month thereby has resulted in the withheld of the salaries of the employees. The authorities must give additional charges to any of the senior official so that our salaries could be released before EID and the employees could feel a sigh of relief,” he added.
He also urged the concerned Minister to look into the issue and fulfill their demands at earliest. (KNS)
