Srinagar: All Jammu and Kashmir Casual and Daily Wager’s Forum on Tuesday decided to gherao assembly on Jun 17 against the alleged regularization of those having political affiliation with current regime.
General Secretary of the forum, Nayeem Rizwan Bhat said that the association has decided to protest against the government for “regularizing the causal and daily wagers who were appointed in the year 2007 and 2010.
He said that daily wagers and casual labourers who have been appointed since 1994 have not been regularized so far while the government has decided to regularize those who are affiliated with PDP or BJP thereby is leaving 60,000 families to lurch at large.
Bhat urged state government to don’t take any discriminative step, which would force the employees to take streets.
Pertinently, PHE daily wagers held a protest on Monday against what they termed as government’s ‘imminent decision’ during which police used water cannons to thwart them to march.
Scores of protesting daily wagers were also detained by the police during the protest that was held outside the PHE head office at Exchange road. (KNS)
