Army foils infiltration bid at Gurez along LoC

Srinagar: Army on Saturday claimed to have foiled an infiltration bid in Gurez area of Bandipora in north Kashmir.
Officials said that a group of militants was intercepted close to the Line of Control (LoC) in Gurez sector during the intervening night of Friday and Saturday by the soldiers.
They said that the militants opened fire triggering a gunfight.
Defense spokesman, Colonial N N Joshi told KNS that a militant was killed in the operation.
“One weapon was recovered from his possession while the operation is in progress,” he said.
Pertinently, on Friday, six militants were killed when they trying to infiltrate into this side. (KNS)
