Srinagar: Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik in a joint statement condemned the imposition of curfew & restrictions in Srinagar, Tral and other parts of Kashmir on May 30 to foil Tral Chalo.
Castigating state administration for putting curbs on political activists, imposition of curfew and arresting Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Mohammad Yasin Malik and other leaders, Syed Ali Geelani, in a statement today, said, “The restrictions, crackdown against leaders and activists and clamping curfew are illogical. Indian forces are carrying genocide under well thought plane, said Geelani and we are even bared to mourn over slain youth.
Terming it the worst example of state terrorism, resistance leaders said unwarranted and unjustified curbs on political activities give rise to chaos and uncertainty in state.
They are creating unnecessary hurdles in peaceful activities while referring to state administration and said that people in Tral were restricted and curfew was declared in whole area and laid unwarranted restrictions over people’s movement.
They are just misleading the world opinion, while referring to Indian leadership and said that Kashmir is not a law and order problem, however a political issue and people are peacefully pursuing their right to self-determination since last seven decades, added resistance leadership.
India with its military might is suppressing the genuine voices and consequent reaction from peaceful people are portrayed to serve their sinister designs, they said.
Resistance leadership demanded immediate release of all detainees and lifting of curbs and said these repressive measures would prove counterproductive and won’t serve any purpose for Indian authorities as these repressive measures were frustrated by the dedicated people in state.
Meanwhile, Syed Ali Geelani expressed his deep grief over the killing of Hafiz-e-Quran Sarshad Ahmad in Tral and extended his condolences with the bereaved family.
In his statement Geelani strongly condemned the brutal act and said that it is the worst form of state sponsored terrorism and forces are killing innocents at point blank range.
Syed Ali Geelani while praying for the departed soul, said that whole nation & Hurriyat Conference stands with the bereaved family in this hour of grief. Geelani prayed for strength for the family to bear this irreparable loss. (KNS)
