Srinagar: The incarcerated chairman of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Shabir Ahmad Shah on Monday said New Delhi has no solution for Kashmir as India’s political and military leadership is itself caught in quagmire of confusion.
Shah in a statement issued to KNS said there is a deep contradiction in statements of Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, and Arun Jaitley on Kashmir and they are unanimous in only pushing the Kashmiri youth to the wall and suppressing them through military might.
On Rajnath Singh’s statement that Government of India will come out with a permanent solution and is open for unconditional talks with all stakeholders, Shah said if this is the case, the move will end the prevailing uncertainty in the subcontinent and the region will witness an era of peace, prosperity and tranquility.
Shah strongly condemned the statement of Indian Army Chief General Rawat saying he wants Kashmiri youth to pick up guns so that army gets an excuse to kill them in the garb of anti-militancy operations. “It (statement) also proves that Indian army deliberately gatecrashes the educational institutions and provokes the students,” he said.
Terming the resistance by youth as justified, Shah said there is no option than to show resistance against the state-sponsored atrocities and oppression. He said the people of Jammu Kashmir are not in favour of war but New Delhi needs to introspect as to why it has failed in the occupied territory for the last seven decades.
“We will continue our struggle and demand the resolution of Kashmir dispute as per its historical background. We have been favouring the tripartite dialogue or implementation of the UN resolutions,” Shah said. (KNS)
