Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik Friday said he has filed a complaint before police against a woman journalist for “breaching his privacy and carrying out a sting operation”.
Malik said that he will resign from politics if Indian media proves that he “owns any property other than two-mud-room” at Maisuma.
Addressing a press conference, according to KNS, here at Abi Guzar office, Malik questioned the journalism practices of Indian media.
“Is this journalism? A woman journalist lied to my sister that she had sought my appointment for an interview and barged into my bedroom. She started video recording with her mobile, which annoyed me following which I snatched her phone. She created a scene and has alleged that he manhandled her, which is very unfortunate.”
“I ask the journalist community of India and JK whether this is the way to interview a person,” Malik questioned.
“Indian media has launched a sting operation against pro-freedom leadership of Kashmir to defame the ongoing freedom movement,” he said, adding that the Indian media was taking diktats from army to defame freedom movement in Kashmir.”
“I have two rooms at Maisuma that are owned by to my mother. If any media person in India can prove that I own property anywhere else then I will resign from resistance politics,” Malik said. (KNS)
