Police didn’t allow Geelani for medical consultation: Hurriyat (G) spokesman

Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (G) on Tuesday said that police didn’t allow Syed Ali Geelani to see his doctors, who have advised him to undergo some routine medical tests and calibration of pacemaker.
In a statement issued to KNS, Spokesman Ayaz Akbar said that Syed Ali Geelani is suffering from multiple ailments and it was a routine checkup to monitor the function of pacemaker which was fixed ten years before.
Spokesman said that date, time & venue for routine checkup was fixed with specialists in SMHS hospital, however police informed us that they have received directives from their higher ups and didn’t allow him to move for medical consultation.
Spokesman said that concerned doctors were informed about the situation and latter at about 3 pm, though SHO Police station Budgam in person informed that permission has been granted, however it was too late.
It is sheer bullying & state terrorism., said spokesman & while strongly condemning the police action, said that matter related to cardiac issues are sensitive and it It’s like playing with his life. There is no constitutional or moral justification for this, added spokesman.
