Div Com reviews progress of Rajbagh bridge

SRINAGAR, MAY 09: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan, Tuesday convened a meeting to review the progress of Rajbagh bridge being constructed over river Jhelum opposite Abdullah Bridge at Rajbagh, Srinagar.
Additional Commissioner Kashmir, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Chief Engineers of R&B and I&FC, MD JKPCC, Chief Town Planner, SSP Traffic and other concerned officials attended the meeting.
The meeting was informed that Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti during a review meeting had passed directions for converting the Rajbagh bridge into footbridge having a cycle track as well.
The Divisional Commissioner directed the concerned to initiate measures in this regard so that the bridge can be opened soon for pedestrians and cyclists.
Later, Khan also reviewed the proposal of Twin Bridge which will be constructed adjacent to Abdullah Bridge after completing all the requisite formalities.
The Chief Engineer R&B appraised that the work on the bridge will be taken up only after conducting of engineering studies by the concerned Departments of Traffic, Irrigation & Flood control and Town Planning Organization.
The Div Com directed the officers including Chief Engineer ERA to conduct a joint site inspection of the proposed bridge site on May 11 and furnish a detailed report in this regard.
